9 Months!

Caroline is growing so fast. I can't believe it's been 9 months since her arrival! We went to her 9-month-checkup on Friday and everything looks great. She's 17lbs, 15oz (30%), 28 1/4 inches(75%) and her head was 46cm (95%). She's a lean, mean, cruisin' machine. Sweet Caroline's been crawling all over the place for quite some time now. She was actually crawling before she was sitting up, if you can believe that! She's now pulling up and cruising around all the furniture and will walk with assistance. It won't be long before she's toddling all over the house, Lord help me! Caroline has just the sweetest disposition. I tell everyone she was the easiest baby since day one and it's absolutely true. She sleeps great, rarely cries (unless she's being dramatic, which she has a tendancy to do), nurses and eats well, and is just so loving!

Sweet Caroline,
Daddy and I love you so much. You bring us so much joy and we love seeing you grow and develop every day. We can't wait to see what the future holds, Little Lady.
Love forever and ever,
Mama

The new obsession...

Trains. We knew Jack loved Thomas. He'd watch the movies, sleep with the couple of engines he had, and snuggle with his Thomas blanket (even though I'm completely opposed to any clothing or bedding with characters - but that's a can of worms I don't care to open just now). All bets were off once we got him the tracks and... HENRY.

Jack loves Henry. Loves. Him.

Now, every morning, the first thing we do is build a track in Jack's room. We must build a bridge or two to go over the track with Jack's wooden blocks. The train system must stay up all day and is the very last toy to be put away at night. Oh, and if we need to go anywhere, Henry usually ends up going. He's been to Walmart, Target, Kohl's, on walks around the neighborhood. Henry even made it to Pantego's National Night Out last week. He's one well traveled engine, that's for sure.

Last week Yaya and I took the kiddos to Grapevine Mills to do a little shopping and to head to Choo Choo Station - a little shop in the mall with train tables set up and a ride on train. Jack played for about 3o minutes and had a ball. He was in train heaven! This train business is his first big toy obsession, though I'm sure it won't be his last.

Snip, snip... choo, choo!

We've been battling with Jack for quite some time regarding his hair. He finally got his hair cut a couple of weekends ago (this is old news, I know) after 5 attempts in 4 weeks. He would absolutely FREAK OUT when we'd take him to the barber shop for a cut. Daddy had to take him and pull some pretty gnarly wrestling moves while the very talented barber did her work, bobbing and weaving, and cutting away the shagginess. Jack's hair turned out very well and, as promised, Daddy took him to get a new train once the cut was done.

Here's Caroline in her Mocha Floral diaper from Cute in Cloth.

Fluffy Butt

Caroline has a couple of new diapers. I ordered them from a store called Cute in Cloth. Here's Caroline in her pink minky dot dipee! I LOVE IT!

Christmas Wonder

... a few months early. We visited Gigi and Pappaw's this weekend and Gigi pulled out this Christmas gem. It's a tree that has a train winding through it. Jack is currently obsessed with trains and he sat and stared at this thing for probably half an hour, if not more.

Having a good read

Flapjacks and family time...

are what Saturdays are all about! We had such fun having a pancake breakfast together this weekend. Jack loved his blueberry pancakes and Caroline polished off an entire whole-wheat pancake by herself, the little piggy! Yummy!
Mmmmm... Caroline, chowin' down!Open wide!

I am completely addicted to making these things! Here's Caroline in my latest...

Diaper treasures

*WARNING* This post is about poop. If you have a problem with that... too bad, it's still about poop.

Now that Caroline is wearing cloth diapers, I have become increasingly familiar with her poop and what's in it since I spray off her diapers in the toilet each time she leaves me a package. Well, Caroline's more of a self-feeder than a spoon-fed kiddo - one of her favorite things to eat are green peas, whole, with her hands. Today, when changing her diaper I found about 25 peas, completely whole, in her poop. I had to call Jason to witness my find. Oh, and yesterday, I found a sticker of Jack's in her poop. It said SUPER! and had a nice yellow star on it. Score!
