Jailbird

CHEESE!!!

Whoa now! That is quite a smile. A cheese-face for sure.
And what do you suppose made him smile so big? You guessed it. Trains.

A girl's gotta accessorize

Caroline loves Jack's engineer's cap. Loves.

She'll give you a toothache...

she's so sweet!

Nearly there...

With less than 30 days to the big April 15 deadline I'm happy to say that I'm surviving. It seems this tax season has gone faster than any since Jason's been in accounting. I'm working really hard at keeping us busy. It helps that Jack's in school a couple of days a week and I've attended a couple of births over the last few weeks. While busy season is just that, busy, it sure pays off the rest of the year when Jason has those lovely 3-day weekends. I keep reminding myself of that and looking forward to the kid-free vacation we'll will be taking in May... 63 days till we head to MEXICO!

Looky, looky...

what came in the mail today!
Notice the three beautiful words below Jason's name... CERTIFIED PUBLIC ACCOUNTANT! The testing has been done for months and now all the requirements are met, fees are paid and we now have the license. It's official, Jason's a CPA! Wahoo! Praise God!

Jas,
You cannot begin to understand how proud I am of you. Everything you've done has been for your family and to glorify the Lord. I couldn't ask for a more hardworking and loving husband. Thanks for everything you do! CONGRATULATIONS! I love you!
Kip

Mommy's helper

Caroline decided to help me organize the office this morning. Gee, thanks Baby Girl.

A rare sight...

Jack decided several months ago that he didn't like to wear hats. He hasn't put one on his head willingly in I don't know how long. Well, Pappaw came over the other day and had on a hat. That was all it took for Jack to be okay with wearing his engineer's cap - if only for a moment!

Apples to Apples

Pattie sent me a couple of photos of Jason's sister, Caroline's Aunt Emmy. It's bizarre for me to see MY family members looking like one another because I never experienced that, being adopted and all. Its really neat to see the resemblance! They're for sure related.
Emmy...and Caroline.Again, Emmy...and Caroline.

Keep on praying!

Your prayers are working! Ross was removed from the ventilator yesterday and is improving! According to his nurse, he had a good night last night and his cough is better. They are addressing the breathing issues first before they move on to his leg. Keep it up prayer warriors. God is good!

UPDATE: Ross is out of ICU and in a "regular" room. It looks like he will be able to go home in several days, WITH both legs! The doctor said they'd reevaluate the leg/stent situation in several weeks and determine what to do then. Please continue to pray for his recovery. God is good!

UPDATE: Ross is HOME! He's been home for several days now. I don't have many details other than he's being watched by his doctors and will go in a couple of weeks to see the doctor about his leg. I guess he's doing well if they sent him home. Praise God!

Prayers for Uncle Ross

Jason's Uncle Ross is in the hospital. I just spoke with Jason' s mom and things aren't looking good. He has a severe case of pneumonia. So much so that he's been placed on a ventilator and is sedated to keep him from removing his breathing tube. The doctor is also quite concerned about his leg. Ross went to the hospital this morning because when he woke up his leg was blue and he could barely use it. He has such poor circulation in that leg that it's not getting adequate blood flow and the tissues are dying. It appears that they will have to amputate - the doctor says there's not much surgically they can do to fix it otherwise.

Please pray for Ross' recovery. Pray for Jason's family (especially his grandmother, Honey and his mom, Pattie) as they are having to make some difficult decisions and seeing Ross struggle so. Pray for the doctors, that they will have the wisdom and skill to treat Ross appropriately and successfully. And most of all, pray for the will of the Lord to be done in this situation.

We truly appreciate your prayers, dear friends. We know He is the Great Physician and can heal Ross, in this life and the next.

Zzzzzzz...

Morning Story Time

Jack decided it was a wonderful morning for crawling back into bed with his favorite (and my LEAST favorite) book - My Very First Winnie the Pooh. He enjoyed his book while Caroline ransacked the bookshelf. Then he announced "That was a GREAT story!" and tossed the book to the floor. That's my kiddo!
Reading, all tucked in.

While I was putting away socks...

this is what my kids were doing. Nice.
Before...
and after. Now if it will only stay that way!

And so, it begins.

Today is the first of 11 Saturdays that Jason has to work this busy season. I have a particularly difficult go of it this time of year since not only do I not get much of a "break" from the kids but I also don't see much of my husband till spring. Truth be told, time really does fly when you're having fun so if you or your family feel the need for an extra trio to join your Saturday activities, we're up for it!

Prayers for my sanity wouldn't hurt either.

Dear Jack...

Please, please stop pooping in your underwear. I know you're a big boy now and big boys put their poop in the potty... first. Not in their underwear and then the potty.

I know you can do this. And when you do (or doo), a super fun trip to the toy store and a brand new train await. Your mama isn't above bribery.

Lovingly,
Mama

Oh, and thank heaven for the diaper sprayer. Sheesh.

Expedition of the Day

Caroline climbs up in this rocking chair nearly every day. I have to keep in next to the wall so it won't tip over with her in it since she insists on standing on it.

Pitter patter!

Caroline's been taking a couple of steps here and there but this afternoon after her nap she WALKED! Like, walked walked. I was in the living room helping Jack get his pants on after a potty break and she was standing by the coffee table and decided to strike out across the room to get to me! She went about 10 paces and made it to my side. Jack and I cheered and cheered and she was so proud of herself. Now we've got two toddlers... I'm in trouble.

Interesting snack...

Mmmm... purple crayon.

He's such a big boy!

Jack said "bye bye" to diapers and is now using the potty full time! (except at night of course) I attempted to potty train in the summer before school started and it was two days of crying, wet underwear, puddles, and poop. Not fun. Jack just wasn't ready. Well, on Tuesday he decided he WAS ready and would do it on his own. Jason and I have had to do very little as far as "training" goes. Basically he just potties when he needs to and gets rewards for going. He's happy, I'm happy, and we're all having fun with it. I love to see how proud Jack is each time he goes potty. He even tells me that he's "growing up". Boy, does he have that right!

Climbing... again.

Maybe I should just plan to do a "climbing photo of the day" every day. Seriously, Caroline. Can you not just stay on the floor?

Just 'cause...

I snapped these pics yesterday after Caroline's morning nap. She wasn't interested in getting out of the crib so I took the opportunity to capture her sweetness. Jack decided to get in on the action too. I must add that I'm well aware of the lack of pants in these pictures. We're in the thick of potty training and it's easier for him to just get underwear off instead of pants AND underwear.
Wakey wakey!
Word.Peek-a-boo!So snuggly!
Look Ma, no pants!Hello, drool! My brown-eyed girl!Jack, showing off his treat for getting 5 stickers on his "Potty Chart". He was so excited and proud (really) as you can tell by his expression.

Welcome Matthan Paul!

My closest friend, Erin, and her husband Terry welcomed their newest bundle of joy yesterday! Matthan Paul Coursey was born at 3:45 pm weighing 8lbs, 6oz and measuring 21 inches long - the exact same measurements as his big sister Selah Blaire! Erin was amazing during the delivery and everyone is wonderfully healthy and beautiful. I was so blessed to be able to witness the birth and am in awe of God's amazing creation when I see new life ushered into this world. Simply brilliant.

Erin and Terry, thanks for letting me be a part of your special day. I love you both so much. Your sweet family just got a little bit sweeter. Congratulations!
Erin, Me, and precious Matthan Paul

Most adults wouldn't dare do this...(He was waiting on the garbage truck)

The Mountain Goat

Again, she's so proud of herself. Gotta watch this girl every second!
